Name: Chifney Bit 596

If you need to lead sometimes difficult horses or those that have a tendency to rear up, this piece of equipment is essential to help you maintain greater control. The Shires Chifney product is known as an anti-rearing bit and has been carefully designed to lead spirited ponies and horses.

The Chifney will securely attach to the headpiece or slip head and includes a single, loose ring for the rope to attach at the back of the horse's chin. If the horse tries to pull or rear, the thin bit with a U shaped mouth will dig into the horse's tongue. This can prove particularly effective and make leading your horse much easier. This kit, however, should be used with caution and care and should never be used for riding.
